Visa Information

general information ...

ALL TRAVELLERS, except New Zealand citizens, must obtain a visa or travel authority before travelling to Australia.

Visas will be issued to travellers as an electronic record on the department’s computer systems and/or as a label or a stamp in your passport.

Any fees paid for a visa application are not refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.

To remain longer in Australia than your original visa allows, you are required to obtain another visa. You must apply for a new visa before your current visa expires. The best time to apply is about two weeks before your current visa expires to allow enough time for processing of your new visa application.
