This page will help you work out the transformation from one unit of measurement to another. On SydneyAtoZ pages we used the international system of measurements where practical. The distance between two points is the length of a straight line between them. In the case of two locations on Earth, usually the distance along the surface is meant: either "as the crow flies". The international unit for distance is the meter(m).

Temperature is a measure of how fast the particles in a body are moving (or vibrating). The international unit for temperature is °Kelvin.

The weight represents the vertical force exerted by a mass as a result of gravity. The international unit is the kilogram.

The volume represents the amount of 3-dimensional space occupied by an object. The international unit for volume is cubic meter (m3).
 

speed

Speed is the measure for the distance travelled per unit of time. The international unit is m/sec.

The rate of a fluid discharged from a source, expressed in volume with respect to time, eg, m3
